Never really played any other varieties of poker, hold'em has gotta be the best by far. played a few hands of omaha but you need at least a straight to even consider tryin to win the hand! As far as i'm concerned texas hold'em is the only way to play :D

Played Omaha, and couldnt get on with it very well, but its a game so different to Texas Hold'em, that it takes a lot of getting used to.

Not sure of the name, but dabbled a bit with 'Wild Poker' - using Jokers to represent any card in the deck.

Sometimes play Pot Limit 10 seater SnG's on Party when Im bored!

Played a couple of Omaha torneys on WPT, made the money twice (Dont quite know how! LOL!) That game takes some working at.

Crazy Pineapple is a popular game in the Tuesday night game played by Anthony Holden (author of Big Deal) and Victoria Coren (winner of the UK Poker Open and Journalist).

Basically it is the same Hold 'Em but you start with 3 Hole cards, one of which you must discard after the flop. Sounds easy but some of the decisions hurt your brain, especially when the turn and river mean you threw the wrong card, try keeping your pokerface then! It's a good laugh and we occaisionally play when we have finished earlyish and want a "quid game". We also like blind mans bluff then as well, when you put your hole cards on your forehead so everyone can see them but you, thats a hoot.

A few of us played Crazy Pineapple yesterday, was a really good game, and decisions about discarding a card after the flop really do hurt your brain, and can be costly.

But was a good laugh!

We have taken Crazy Pineapple to the next mind blowing level, now known as Boom!
5 cards each this time, discard 1 straight away, round of betting, flop, discard, bet, turn, discard, bet, river, bet. so after the turn you have 2 cards left and the river WILL kill you (also an extra really mental variation where you can bet half the pot after the river to swap 1 of your cards with one of your discards - beware though ost me £5 for half the £10 pot to make full house, next player then paid £7.50 to make quads and the next player paid £11 for a straight flush! mental one pot £33!)
